Holistic Birth and Postpartum Care for Mothers and Families
Oak and Rose Birth was born from my own mothering,
and the homebirth of my daughter. This work found me and what emerged was a sacred calling, an unanswered prayer which lead me to the realms of birth. My foundations inside this work allow me to trust the necessity of it and my service within it stands as a high privilege in this life - to support you in your becoming. This work takes courage. It takes resilience, and we are here, together.
My offerings are rooted in community care and yet they are malleable to meet the needs of the now. The threads of wisdom that have found me follow the song lines of the unspoken and the lineages of women who have sat endlessly before the altars of birth, bearing witness to thebeauty of it. I offer up my services humbly, knowing we will grow together in our work. I give great thanks to all of my teachers and offer the deepest bow to my daughter, for birthing this path from within me.
Oak & Rose Birth honours all forms of families. This is a deep commitment and one that acknowledges holistic healthcare to include any and all identities and orientations. Birth is sacred, and so too is your experience in it. This means an experience that considers your physical realities and your mental, emotional and cultural needs. With gratitude and privilege we collaborate, work and welcome new life on these lands, the traditional and ancestral territories of the Syilx Okanagan Nation.
Oak & Rose Birth also collaborates with The Doulas for Aboriginal Families Grant Program (DAFGP). The goal of this program is to increase healthy birth outcomes for Indigenous families by removing cost barriers to accessing doula services.
Giving birth and being born brings us into the essence of creation, where the human spirit is courageous and bold and the body, a miracle of wisdom.
